This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
It has been a little bit over a month since we have gotten the chance to be together. Once this pandemic hit, it seems we have been one step behind. The first few weeks were frantic just trying to get more knowledge about what was going on and how long we would be away from one another. It was a scramble to get laptops distributed and make contact. With so much going on we must remember the things that are important.
My students are the ones who are hit the hardest during this time.
Busy bodies are now cooped up. Maneuvering Minds and now to navigate in a foreign way. Distance learning has been a challenge, but with innovative new technology, it has been possible. I love getting to talk with my students daily and they are starting to get the hang of navigating more through technology. I'm excited to see my students progress and capabilities next year.
My Project
Our biggest fear as teachers during this pandemic is learning loss. Well, I'm here to combat that. With the help of donors I will be able to safely drop off/ ship out summer bridge materials for students.
My hope is to give them a box of goodies that can give them a leg up next year.
The boxes would include two activity books. One will be a differentiated math activity book and the other will be a coloring book. With these books I'd like to give them a pack of crayons, so that they can be creative all summer long. To encourage reading I have picked out book packs. The book will be chosen specifically for the student.
