My students come from all different backgrounds. Our school is 60% free and reduced lunch, which means 60% of the school population is under the national poverty line. Many parents are not able to donate due to finances.
I also have students who have special needs and are supported by the special education teachers, speech pathologists, and hearing impaired teachers at my school.
These students, too struggle in the classroom.
My second graders are eager workers, have a love for learning, enjoy being in the classroom, and I love being their teacher!
My Project
My students need math centers to help enrich their math skills learned in the classroom. Since I am new to second grade, my students hardly have any centers at their grade level.
They are in need of math centers to practice essential math skills!
Building simple addition and subtraction skills is imperative to what they need to meet their goals in second grade. Clipboards and pencils will be used to record their data.
The class I am currently in does not have enough math centers for all students to have a chance to practice. With this donation, they will all have enough and be engaged in their math work daily.
