Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I will be entering my 10th year in teaching this school year. Over those years I have learned that all students have different needs and different learning styles. As their teacher, it is my job to meet all the needs of my diverse students. This year I want to give my busy learners more chances to focus their attention while they learn. By adding flexible seating options my students will have the tools they need to complete independent classroom work.

My Project

Flexible seating will allow my students the chance to make choices that work best for them. Currently my students have the option of working with others at their traditional desks, on the carpet with a clipboard, or under desks with a clipboard. I want to provide for them more comfortable options that will motivate and foster their learning.

By giving my students options, I have noticed a huge improvement in their work and focus during independent time.

The wobble chairs and lap boards that I have chosen will help my students by giving them seating options to enhance their learning and engagement in the classroom.
