My Students

My fifth-grade students are amazing. My students come to school every day ready to learn and willing to work hard. My class is made up of many different needs, including students with special needs, limited language acquisition, and high achieving needs. My students work hard every day to succeed. We use many different strategies to achieve success, and many of these strategies are thanks to DonorsChoose.org. We have received furniture, chapter books, and technology from amazing donors.

We work hard all year long.

Having available resources helps my students become successful.

My Project

People don't always realize how many supplies students use to be successful. Pens and pencils are just the beginning. My students are constantly reaching into their table caddies or pencil boxes for their supplies.

Some of the supplies we need to replenish to finish off the year and start the next school year are highlighters, scissors, glue sticks, composition notebooks, labels, glue sticks, and Sharpies.

We use the composition notebooks for both science and social studies. The students take notes and prepare for tests with these notebooks. Highlighters, pencils, and pens are also essential to the note taking process. We annotate our reading constantly, and just having a pencil to do that is difficult. The students also need new glue sticks and scissors. Some of our notes come off printed worksheets, and we cut and glue those into our composition notebooks.

The Post-it whiteboard sheets are an amazing way for students to complete work around the classroom. We stick them on cabinets.
