My elementary ESL class is full of amazing students from all around the world. Multiple nationalities, continents, and languages are just a small part of the diversity seen in my classroom each day. My students are diverse groups and bring many different personalities and strengths to the classroom! They are unified in their motivation and enthusiasm, their caring and kindness toward their school and each other. Regardless of the many struggles they may have faced, my students are always here, always happy and eager to learn.
Last year we used materials in our classroom that I purchased using my own funds. Most of our students live in low-income housing and their families can not afford simple school supplies, such as notebooks and pencils.
The products that I selected will allow my students additional support across the curriculum throughout the school year.
We will use notebooks daily for vocabulary, ELA writing, drawing pictures for better understanding and Math practice. We will use our pencils and sharpener all day, every day, for all subjects. Also, we will use our clipboard when we gather on our rug for reading time to help us take our notes and use our graphic organizers more easily and comfortably.
My students are all English Language Learners and are incredibly eager to learn everything they can, despite their challenges.
