I work in a Title I school where our students have a ton of heart and drive. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and we push them to be international learners with a growth mindset. Getting to learn from different perspectives allows our students to not only grow academically, but socially as well.
I am proud to say that we have a set of students who are problem solvers and don't back down from challenges.
We are always looking for ways to improve, whether that is adding resources to our classroom - or trying things a new way!
As I am getting to know some of the students next year that will be in my classroom, I am finding that there will need to be movement and flexibility in my classroom, especially since we will be in the same room all day. We will be working through inquiry based learning together, and being able to quickly create groups or make adjustments on the fly will be important to our success.
These lap desks will help my students by allowing them a "change of scenery", while still giving them tools to help them be productive and focused.
Since students will not switch classrooms throughout the day, I feel it is important for them to have a choice in where they sit. The fact that the desks can easily be moved and stored is important for classroom functionality, and the desk gives the student a clear workspace that they can write on easily, or even safely place a laptop. Since students can move these desks on their own, they are easily adaptable for group or individual work as well.
Thank you for looking into helping make our class the best it can be next year!
