We teach 50 active kindergartners who love to move, collaborate, and explore while learning. School is a brand new experience for many of our students and they all learn in their own unique ways. Some students love to work at their table groups, but many love to complete their activities on the floor with clipboards. We have limited flexible seating and work spaces and would love to give our "littles" more options. When we teach our classroom mantra is "Find a Place You Can Be Successful!" This project would help us give all our students the ability to choose their successful spot in our classroom.
My Project
My partner teacher and I are hoping to give our students the freedom to choose a seat in our classroom where they can be successful in their learning. We often combine our kindergarten classes to engage our students in hands-on learning and would love the opportunity to give them seating choices such as wobble chairs, soft seats, or floor table that best fit their needs. The ability to use flexible seating in our classrooms during Science lessons, STEAM activities, and literacy and math centers will get our students even more excited to explore and have fun while learning.
