This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income school district. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.
I teach learning support/emotional support, and my students will truly benefit from different resources/materials in the classroom.
There is not enough money in the budget to fund all of these resources. My students want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
My student’s need three-ring binders, and colored pencils to start the 2018-2019 school year off. I also need some new bulletin board Décor to welcome the kids into a comfortable and fun learning environment. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will have the materials needed, in order to start our new school year right. The three-ring binders will contain the student’s agendas that are provided by the school and used every day. The binders will hold all homework and important papers to go home and the agendas will have daily points to be signed by parents.
Starting the year off with the proper resources will assure organization and a successful school year!
The colored pencils are needed and used on a daily basis since students utilize them for all academic areas and projects. These colored pencils are excellent for my students because they love to be creative and use them for various assignments. Having the proper materials is essential for students.
