My students need LCD tablets to use for reading and spelling practice.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Do you remember your first year of school? You were probably most excited about learning to read. For most children, learning to read is a relatively easy task. But, for some students learning to read can be difficult.
My students are identified as struggling readers.
They need differentiated instruction, extra time, and multiple opportunities to practice during their reading intervention classes.
Every day presents a challenge for these students as the reading process does not happen easily or quickly for them. Yet, they are always willing and ready to work!
Our community was hard hit by Hurricane Harvey. Many of our students' homes were damaged or completely destroyed by the hurricane. Through it all, these students have been "little troopers!" They absolutely deserve something new and exciting to use for learning when they come to school!
We use whiteboards on a daily basis in my reading intervention classes. We use them to code and study their decodable reading words, practice spelling sight words, and for spelling dictation. The students prefer these whiteboards over paper and pencil any day! However, there are some drawbacks to whiteboards. The markers dry out very quickly, and the boards get dingy with repeated use.
I know my students would greatly enjoy doing their word study and spelling practice with the LCD tablets.
My students would be even more motivated to participate and practice. Technology is a big part of their world, and these boogie boards would be the perfect way to provide them with the guided practice they need.
