Help me give my students a sensory wall and area. We will create multiple spots in my classroom for students to meet their sensory needs. We have included multiple items that will help them get their sensory needs
Hi! I work in an Intensive Instruction Classroom. This means that some of my students are working on reading, writing, counting, and shapes. Other classmates are working on imitating sounds, holding a pencil, recognizing colors, and matching. My classroom loves to listen to music, play outside, do hands on activities, and build a positive community.
My classroom is built on remembering that we are all learning and together we can learn more.
I have 9 students ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade. We have a mix of ability levels, but one thing we have in common is that we are all a team!
My Project
My students have many needs, sensory needs being one of them. We have extreme behaviors in my room. Many of the behaviors can be solved by allowing students to do calming activities. I want to give my students multiple sensory areas in my classroom.
The sensory walls an areas will help my students be more successful and meet their needs.
My students have shown a decrease in behaviors and an increase in success when we provide them with these outlets. My students would use these areas multiple times a day. Creating more than one area will allow for more than one student to get their needs met at one time.
