I teach in a Title 1, low income school in Oklahoma City. They love to be engaged with both hands-on experiences and through the use of technology. Many of my students do not have access to technology at their homes, so I want to provide them with the necessary technology to give them the best chance to succeed.
My students and their families truly value education, but don't always have opportunities to use the latest resources.
They love using the computers because it makes learning so much fun for them. They get to express themselves by creating presentations, showing how to do a particular skill, and even inviting the principal to view it. My students get to become the teacher, learn at their own pace by use of programs like Khan Academy, and become leaders.
We are an arts integrated school that provides several modes of learning beyond just traditional settings. My students strive to be the best they can be, work every day, and be on the path to a successful college career. I believe that by increasing my students' exposure to all avenues of learning, they are given the best chance to succeed.
I need some Chromebooks with their Google licences in my classroom. These Chromebooks are inexpensive and provide a touchscreen for my English Language Learners and those with Special Services. These are amazing kids that need these pieces of technology to increase success.
I want to provide a safe classroom that will give many opportunities for all students to succeed.
These Chromebooks will allow students to not only do research for projects, but will also allow a different way to learn with the touchscreen using programs like Khan Academy. It will provide confidence, eagerness, and the gratification for all the students to succeed.
