I have 17 third graders who love to use various forms of technology. They love to set goals and are excited when they surpass those goals.
They are excited to come to school everyday and love to greet me with a handshake, hug, or high five!
I teach in a small rural community in southern Indiana, with a large percentage of students being on free or reduced lunch. My dream is to inspire a love of learning for each of them!
A majority of our day in third grade is spent in small group instruction. This allows me to more effectively tailor lessons to each individual student.
By having a more functional area for small groups, I will be able to engage more efficiently with each child in my group.
A kidney table will allow me to provide scaffolding, feedback, and guided practice in a closer proximity to each child in my small groups.
With standardized testing continuing to be the norm and the high-stakes of IREAD3, a kidney shaped table will greatly help me meet the needs of each of my students in a small group that identifies their unique needs.
