The students I service have significant emotional, behavioral, and academic deficiencies, which include: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Learning Disabilities in reading and math, Attention Deficit Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, and/or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
To be successful and make progress in reading and writing, these students, who struggle with the traditional teaching model, require a reading program that is specifically designed for students with disabilities.
They work best in a small group setting where specialized instruction can be delivered, as well as one-on-one and cooperative learning is offered.
My Project
Phonemic Awareness Learning Centers and Math Skills Activity Centers will provide high interest activities, which include the manipulatives, my students need to be engaged and make progress in reading and math.
By donating to this much needed project, students will be able to work independently or with a partner/small group to discover, practice, and master the basic math and reading skills that they need to be successful in everyday life.
In addition, Snap and Build Sight Words and Plastic Pattern Blocks and Cards, provide the visual and tactile materials to thoroughly engage students in their leaning and will provide confidence needed to further learn necessary skills.
