The students who spend time in my Learning Center are the best of the best! They might struggle in school and learn in nontraditional ways, but they work so hard and want to excel and progress.
My classroom consists of 20 amazing kiddos who inspire me every day.
Each kiddo is a hard worker, kind and a very important member of our close-knit school family. I am lucky to spend my days with these amazing humans. They make me a better teacher.
My Project
Being a Special Education teacher is beyond rewarding but it doesn't come without challenges. My students are not typical readers and don't fit into a box when it comes to learning and being successful. They need resources and materials that are specific to each of their needs. That is very hard to do when just using school based curriculum.
Teachers Pay Teachers is a life saver for special education teachers and students.
We are able to find recourses that will work for each individual student. By doing this, I know they are learning in a way that is best for them. My student show the best growth when they are working on specific skills that cater to their own individual way of learning. This might look different for every kiddo but they are all able to show growth and find success.
With the funds from this project, I will be able to purchase quality materials and resources that are research based and created by teachers who know what school and individual student needs look like.
I plan to purchase resources in the areas of reading, writing and math across all grade and skills levels. These materials will be used for years to come and will benefit a countless number of kiddos. They will start to feel successful and proud of their growth and progress.
