The students in my Earth Science classes live in a rural community, with little opportunity to explore museums and science exhibits. Therefore I use my classroom as a platform to expand my students perspective and open their eyes to the exciting world around them.
I strive to provide as many opportunities in my curriculum for a STEAM based education.
This past year I had an amazing opportunity at a world class museum in San Francisco. I was provided invaluable training in the new NGSS standards. This training has redefined my role as an instructor and necessitates new tools for my classroom. I am honored to have DonorChose benefactors consider my proposal.
My Project
Provide my students with school supplies they need paper, pens, pencils. they created a list based on their personal needs. They have a special homework class with me and we are working on being prepared for school. They determined these items would help them to succeed in school. They work very hard every day in class to complete their homework and make their work stand out from their classmates in having that extra touch. I would like to reward all their hard work by providing them with these needed supplies. They also were willing to do an online class to earn these funds.
