Working in Alief ISD has been the greatest pleasure yet. My students display their love and passion for learning as I do the same. I love and admire how much my students push through adversity despite all odds against them . They come to school in the morning feeling unmotivated and discouraged due to circumstances of their economic background. With these challenges, they still give their best effort in my classroom and that is what I admire the most .
My classroom consists of students who suffer from different learning disabilities and learning anxiety. They come from a setting where their choices are either unacknowledged or unavailable. As their teacher, it is my duty to provide my students with the option to choose what they consider a comfortable learning environment. My students will be engaged in many lessons where they will be able to choose a flexible seating option like a wobble seat or balance ball, in the classroom so they will be more receptive to the instruction. Having students that have testing anxiety, I will allow them to choose where they would feel the most comfortable to take their test to ensure that I eliminate at least one environmental stressor.
