I teach in one of the oldest schools in Colorado and our school is a wonderful neighborhood school. It is a school very active in its local community. My students are creative and full of energy. They are excited about learning and are full of compassion.
They are always eager to try new things and explore what is presented to them.
My school is an IB PYP school and because of that, my students are excellent inquirers who are constantly curious. Though they come from many different backgrounds, they are all interested in making the world around them (locally and abroad) a better place.
My Project
Currently in my classroom I am using two bookshelves to store small percussion instruments. These book shelves are not meant for this and are bowing under the weight. If I want to rearrange my room I need to empty off all the instruments to move the bookshelves because the wood will crack otherwise. The backing on them is lose and falling off.
A sturdy storage solution will help my classroom stay organized and allow it to be rearranged to meet my students needs.
The shelves I chose are made of sturdy wood and come with wheels so they can allow a space to be reorganized. Each of the cubbies will allow for neat and orderly storage and the separation is likely to improve the longevity of it.
It is also short enough to fit under my windows allowing me to use my bulletin boards better and potentially in the futures allowing me to rearrange in order to create a better refocus spot, by not having to keep my instruments in the corner.
