Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love teaching first graders because they are inquisitive, energetic, passionate, trusting, and fun-loving! My upcoming group could potentially be a little different because they are suffering from the consequences of the current pandemic.
Our school demographics include approximately 75% of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and we have a high number of non-English speaking students.
This can be challenging for a teacher. New tools and supplies to facilitate learning are always put to good use as we begin a new school year. It is especially important this year. My students will not be sharing any supplies for an unspecified period of time. They love to share typically, so this will be a big adjustment for them.

My Project
My students are a diverse group of learners who like to wiggle and move. Each student had his or her own talents and ways of learning. But many of them need movement in order to allow them to focus. Sitting in an uncomfortable chair all day is one of their most common complaints.
These soft comfy stools will allow my students the comfort and the flexibility they have been asking for.
The soft comfy stools are the addition that will add even more seating options for my students. The difference in their level of engagement is directly related to their ability to be comfortable and that includes body movement.
