Second grade is a year where students make astounding growth academically, socially, and emotionally.
My students are amazing children who love to learn, have growth mindsets and work together to create a classroom environment of respect.
They follow our school motto of active minds, healthy bodies, and responsible citizens. Everyone works together as a classroom community to development personal responsibility, empathy for others and set individual goals. From the beginning of the year we learn about having a growth mindset and how to develop our mindsets in school and at home.
These sturdy mailboxes will impact every student, every day through the gift of organization. In years past, I built classroom mailboxes from cardboard. By mid year the mailboxes were falling apart and student work, important information, flyers and homework didn’t stay organized. These mailboxes will improve classroom organization, management and encourage student responsibility. Students will place their completed work, homework and letters for home in their own mailbox slot throughout the day. After the end of day class meeting, students will go to their mailbox to collect all papers and bring them right to their cubbies to put into a folder in their backpack.
