We work hard. Everyday my students come in ready to learn and get ready for middle school. We need some additional equipment so that we can play as hard as we work.
My students are an ethnic mix.
They are bright hard-working students. They are creative and have amazing team work skills. They work together recognizing good ideas in others and are happy to jump in and help make an idea work.
They are learning about life and discovering who they are. The transition to middle school is a tough one. Through teaching and playing I want to give them the self confidence they need to be secure in middle school.
My Project
My students will use the materials to play different P.E. games. These games foster teamwork and problem solving skills. These games will also get some much needed exercise. We sit in class 5 hours a day; they need some time to move and get fresh air.
We will use the portable speakers to add music to our P.E. sessions and some of our daily class activities. We will use the tablet to help discover new games and learn new ways to be healthy.
The chapter books are a way for me to encourage their reading. By choosing books that are interesting to them, they are more likely to want to read. Reading is a great way to relax and recharge.
Studies show that kids who get physical activity are healthier and learn more.
Getting the blood flowing to the brain helps with learning and thinking. In the end, they will be better problem solvers.
