Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many students have vivid dreams but limited direction in how to make those dreams a reality. The book "Stuff Good Players Should Know," is a great guide for helping aspiring basketball players to become all that they could be.
My students are a group of motivated and committed young men.
They are the type of players who ask questions, take advice and make every effort to continuously improve as students and athletes. Many of my students are not fortunate to have private coaches and tutors but they maximize every opportunity to become better.
My Project
The book "Stuff Good Players Should Know; Intelligent Basketball From A - Z," is a book written for basketball players. It is conversational and easy to read, yet filled with subtle insights into the game of basketball. The book defines STUFF as page after page of creative concepts, common sense, and special tips that can not be found else where. This book is like having a coach right beside you, discussing the fine points of the game.. "Stuff Good Players Should Know" in my opinion, may truly be the best book written for players
By donating these books to my student athletes, donors have a chance to make a great difference in the lives of these young men.
I am a strong advocate of reading and what I've learned during my many years of teaching is that students tend to read books that they can relate to or that they find interest in. Donating these books to my athletes will as they say, 'kill two birds with one stone" by creating not just better athletes but also better students.
