My Students

My students are highly compassionate and passionate young people. They come from high poverty situations and don't often have stable home lives; however, their school is a place they know they have supportive adults and peers.

My students have big dreams and plans, but they need extra support and guidance to achieve them.

My kids are finishing their educational experience when I get them, so my job is to make sure they are confident and capable graduates who are ready to succeed after high school.

My Project

Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller is a widely studied text that teaches the importance of family, passion, identity, and legacy. This American story is perfect for older students who are beginning to move into young adulthood. With this text, all seniors can access rigorous content and an engaging story.

Senior year content focuses on identity, and this story of losing an identity is timeless.

This play is powerful, accessible, and full of heartbreak. Advanced level writing prompts, close reading activities, and analysis will be paired with this text. Lots of collaborative work around theme, characterization, and narrative structure will happen daily.
