Help me give my students interactive learning experiences. A direct approach is the best way to engage in learning. Students with disabilities need more in order to access the same as general education peers.
I work in a very special area of Portland, Maine.
Our student population is hungry, homeless, or both. They also live with a wide variety of disabilities ranging from near blind to a barrage of emotional, trauma, and learning disabilities. This population of students are not in situations that lead the way to optimism, opportunity, or are not quickly increasing their quality of life.
Regardless of the reality of their situations, many come to school for a hot meal, to learn, to succeed, and for the positive relationships formed in our school.
Our students are overcoming daily struggles to be present during the school day. It is my obligation as a teacher to create the best possible environment by diversifying access to content in education.
My Project
Our students have access to school remotely, in person, and paperwork. Study.com will allow them to access increased content. This program has an entire curriculum based on interest or need.Study.com has a library of over 83,000 lessons with text, videos, and tests. It states that they could apply a completed course towards college credit.
Study.com's digital library would enrich our classroom curriculum that can be differentiated to fit any student at any level in our day treatment program.
The course work is lively and engaging to anyone who wants to learn. They also have coursework that teachers or any school professional can use to refine classroom skills and content.
