I cover a lot of interesting topics and they work hard and learn each day! No matter the challenge before them in my class, they rise to the occasion every single time. I raise the bar and they clear it. I raise it again...and they clear it again. I am serious.
My Project
We are requesting five laptops which will complete our class set! Laptops and internet capability have ¨revolutionized¨ learning in high school Social Studies! I can give the background basics about World War I through maps, discussions, and textbooks. To take it to the next level, computers and the internet are a must. I can send students into interactive WWI trench warfare scenarios or I can expose them to WWI actual video/audio footage.
I can compliment the needed old school instruction with modern technology...and that is the ticket to getting their attention!
I have found that differentiating from lecture, discussion, computers, and groups etc...this is the best way to cover the material. Students are interested and want more and with technology it is almost limitless.
