Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students choose to go to my school based on their career goals. Only one of the career specialties relates to biology. I would love more ways to engage my law and culinary kids in biology!

My students apply to go to my school based on the career specialties we offer.

However, they are picked via a lottery system, not merit. So we still get a diverse group of students. It is an excellent atmosphere to encourage professionalism and college readiness.

My Project

I am requesting Mr. Potato Head sets to use as an engaging form of review. I would prepare questions and when a group answers correctly, they get to add an accessory to their potato. The first group to a full potato, WINS! How fun is that? These kids are surrounded by technology every day. I love to incorporate technology, but sometimes they just need something different. I think this is a very fun and engaging way to reach my students during review days.

I believe that this project will make a difference with my students because they are getting used to and bored of all the hum drum review sources online.

I think the Study Spuddy game is a fun, unique, and engaging way to review content before an exam or quiz, or even as just a formative assessment!
