Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I loved school when I was a student. It is my goal that my students love school just as much as I did. It's one of the reasons why I chose teaching. I try to provide a clean, safe and inviting room environment for my students. I also take pride in creating challenging and memorable lessons.
My students come to school each day with a desire to learn, despite the challenges they face in their home lives.
The majority of my students are English Language Learners. My school is a 100% free lunch school, located in the inner city outside of Los Angeles, California. I work hard to create a community of scholars who will leave me ready to tackle future educational challenges. I also work hard to help meet social emotional needs in addition to educational needs.
My Project
The seats that I am asking for will help my students choose alternative seating when completing classwork. My students need seating that allows for movement and flexibility. I'm asking for wobble chairs / stools.
These kinds of seats are beneficial for ALL students, but especially those who need modifications to the general environment.
I would like to use the stools at my small group table so students can focus on the intervention lesson that I present them. I have read that student comprehension, attention, focus and motivation are all improved if students have the ability to move slightly during instruction and independent work. I want to give my students every advantage possible to get the most out of our time together.
