Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a moderate to severe special needs class where my students are kids first but they also have Autism. Most of them are non-verbal and require sensory activities throughout the day. The balance beam and cardboard boxes will help them with their sensory needs. The wood puzzle, stencil template and pencil grips will help them with their fine motor skills and pre-writing activities. My students are challenging, fun, silly, and best of all, I get to call them my students.

The last thing I want for my students to be is bored or under-stimulated while at school.

In order to help with this, each week my Instructional Assistants and I swap out different books and activities, like puzzles and blocks, to help keep the students engaged and interested.
