Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from homes where they are first generation American citizens and from homes where their families sacrifice to provide them with all that they need to become successful in the United States. Unfortunately, some of these homes simply have the bare necessities, if even that much.
Providing a classroom where supplies and organizational tools are provided will assist my students to achieve throughout the school year.
Being part of the American dream is one that appears to be out of reach but is actually within reach when students are provided with a positive environment to learn and all the necessary materials a student will need in learning.
My Project
An iPad in the classroom enables all the students to access it when they need to complete research, view media associated with concepts introduced in class, and to reinforce skills they may be weak in through remediation programs. The iPad also gives the opportunity for students to create projects utilizing photo and video images along with text in a multi-media display.
An iPad in the classroom enhances the learning experiences of all the students because it allows them to learn in different ways; through images, video, access to current information, and interaction with other students across the world.
The use of the iPad in the classroom also enables the students to take it home to share with family and continue their learning at home.
