My students with moderate to severe needs contribute to the rich diversity of this title one school. Laughter, creativity, engagement, and resilience are just some of the qualities I encounter in them each day.
Despite their unique challenges, which range from intellectual disabilities to autism and health needs, my students continue to approach learning with a sense of excitement and expectation.
My students deserve to have a rich learning environment where they can shine to their fullest potential. For many of them, that means more supplies, more support and more technology.
My Project
Students with moderate to severe needs are often overlooked when it comes to STEM projects and the use of technology. With these Chromebooks, my students will be able to access their assignments online every day and it will allow me, as their teacher, to more readily assess data on how they are progressing towards their goals. If my students had access to Chromebooks, I could better prepare them to enter our robotics lab and use the wonderful resources there.
My students have a natural interest in using computers, because it is the tool of their generation, these Chromebooks will encourage their independence and I believe they should have access to this resource the same way their typical needs peers do.
