Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kofi Annan once said, "Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family." We need your help so that these future adults of the world experience more than our little rural community can provide.

Although it is high poverty school, these kids have dreams beyond the resources we can provide.

These kids work harder than most because they know the world is not given to you. You must work for everything you achieve. They are ready but just need the chance.

My Project

These books will give students the opportunity to access information and content that is up-to-date. These new books will provide relevant examples that students can relate to, which leads to greater understanding and retention of knowledge. The books we have are over 20 years old and give examples of issues and topics that current students have not dealt with or experienced personally and therefore cannot relate to.

Students need to relate to the text they are reading in order to retain the information they are learning.

This opportunity for updated books will have a great impact on my course and my students.
