Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My loving, spirited students come to school every day ready to learn. All of my students are English language learners and primarily speak Spanish at home. At our school, we promote a sense of community, where all students are welcome and feel safe. Through determination and perseverance, my scholars strive to achieve high standards and be the best students they can be!
Because of their passion for learning, these students deserve access to a high level education, including the promotion of mindfulness and health and fitness in class.
My students have an extremely high interest in staying active, learning with hands on experiments/projects, and having fun while doing so!
My Project
My students look forward to their health and fitness classes where they learn team building strategies, communication skills, and various basic athletic techniques in an outdoor setting. Most of these students don't have access to playing in after school sports leagues, so these donations will provide students a chance to be part of a team, while promoting health and fitness and having fun all at once!
Physical activities will enhance the students' capabilities with access to fitness, while also helping them to become higher achievers in the classroom.
Our school currently has limited equipment, and some of the equipment we have is in poor condition. With these donations, students will enjoy the various apparatus, such as soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, and jump ropes. Having exposure to these many sports will prepare my students for middle and high school in their later years.
