This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The theatre students at our high school are a dedicated bunch.

They are a small group but have big hearts and great goals. They work extremely hard to balance their grades as well as participate in the MANY different extracurricular activities they participate in.

The theatre department has become home for many of our students who may not be good at sports or may not be the highest ranking students in school. They are the misfits, nerds, loners, and wannabes who have come out of their shells and found a place where they belong.

My Project

From singing and dancing to musical instruments, our students shine. The musicals and plays the students perform are a great way to show off their talent.

The students deserve their moment in the spotlight.

For the students to advance in the art of theatre, they need working equipment. The students learn about lighting through out the year. They have to understand the importance of singling out individual characters with light in order to show the importance of that character. It is so beautiful to see a student's smile when they know the spotlight light is on them and its their turn to be special.

The feel of the warmth as it hits your skin, and knowing that out in that audience, are your friends, family and teachers. All of them there to see you shine.
