This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My student's love technology. They speak and breathe it. Much of their work is done on our few classroom computers. We love to share our work through the use of our projector. Imagine if they could use their love of technology to "speak" to each other wirelessly in our classroom.

Our school is a neighborhood school with great needs.

We love our students and their community and want to do all we can to help them have the same success as students with more resources than our kids have access to. Our kids are like most kids today, hand them a tablet or cellphone and they feel right at home. They live and breath technology and light up whenever they have the option to use.

My Project

My students will use the iPad that we are requesting throughout the day in all our subject areas as they work in cooperative learning groups. In reading, they will be able to interact with digital books and share notes or thoughts they have wirelessly to our projector. In math they will use the iPad to work with virtual manipulatives and share their discovery wirelessly. In science they will be able to do virtual labs and share their results with the rest of the class wirelessly.

This project will increase student involvement and participation.

Students will be able to learn from their peers which research suggests will be a more powerful learning experience for them. They will be able to use technology that they would not normally have access to.
