I work in a school where most of my students get free and reduced lunches. Although most of the students are growing up in poverty, they are still eager to learn and excited about being at school. They love to do fun new activities in the classroom. They all enjoy doing projects that involve hands-on learning. My students are always eager to get to school and see what they will be learning that day. I love working with them every day.
My Project
The students in my classroom are looking for more STEM activities to do. My students and I would like to add more variety of STEM activities in our classroom.
STEM is important to my students because it is everywhere in the world and it is in every part of our lives.
These resources that we want for our classroom will allow my students to use their creative thinking skills. Using the magnetic building blocks, the gravity maze, and the LEGO blocks, my students will be able to work together as a group to figure out problems and engineer a project together. These items will also allow my students to relate the activities that they are working on to real-life situations. My students will be able to collaborate and use problem-solving skills while they are learning and having fun.
