Hugs and humor, laughter and love is what I both give and get from my students everyday. When they enter my classroom on the first day of school, they are wide-eyed, nervous 4 year-old children. They look to me to provide them with a nurturing, safe environment where they can learn and grow.
Many of my students come from low income homes with little or no resources or educational support.
I work hard to motivate each child and encourage them to love learning. We share stories, play games, sing songs and read together. I give them every opportunity to reach their individual potential and they make me smile each and every day.
My Project
Read, Read Read! Did you know that the number one most important predictor for student success is Early Literacy Skills. Did you also know that one of the basic fundamentals of early literacy is letter sound awareness? In my classroom, we review letter sounds all day, everyday. If we had the The Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs and Mystery Alphabet Game, my instruction could be enhanced further. These tangible, cute miniatures can be used for so many different activities including sorting, alliteration, matching, memory games....the possibilities are just endless!
Since the Alphabet Tubs and Mystery Game contain items my students can manipulate, they are a concrete representation of letter sounds.
Being able to hold, see, hear, and say the sounds will keep learning fun and help my students who need a more "hands on" approach to learning.
