My students need an adjustable rectangular table for group collaboration and a tall table with stools for partner work. I will also use the tall table for one-on-one reading and writing conferencing with students.
I teach approximately 45-50 students in two classes of 20-25 each. My third graders are AMAZING! They are motivated, hard working, and eager to learn.
My students are extremely appreciative of all resources provided to them for learning.
Our classroom is a community where everyone pitches in to take care of all that we have. I can see their faces now as they walk into the classroom filled with these items! They are very grateful children who will be excited to get busy using them towards successful learning!
My Project
Just as students have different learning styles, they need different learning environments. Flexible seating in the classroom addresses this and sparks student motivation.
When students have choices, they feel more empowered and in charge of their learning.
The tall table will allow for students to work as partners as well as for me to conference with them. The rectangular table is adjustable and students will use it to collaborate with each other along with completing their independent work. We will adjust it low to the ground for those students who like to sit on the floor. The balance ball will suit students who like to move as they work!
