Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine being a six or seven year old boy and having to sit in a chair all day long, eventually you would get antsy and need to move. This year I would love to be able to give them the option of alternative seating to help my students focus and learn to love school!
I teach at a Title I school in Arizona, so my students come from low income families and don't have as many resources available to them.
I teach the ESL first grade class at my school and I have 17 boys and 4 girls in my class. My students are energetic and full of life! My students need to move when learning so that they stay focused and engaged in their learning, so we do a lot of movement activities in our classroom but sometimes they need to be able to sit down and do work without distracting their other classmates.
My Project
With these ball seats, my students would have alternative seating as an option to help focus their energetic little bodies. My students would learn how to sit in a seat and work while still being able to move and not distract their classmates. These would also allow them to learn to love school at a young age.
Donations to my project would allow my classroom of 17 boys to be more focused and excited to learn.
This would show my students that people outside of our school and community care about them and want to make sure that they succeed in life.
