My students need before school snacks for tutoring, and extra help and after school snacks for tutoring and extra help. Some of my students do not even bring a lunch.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are hard working individuals that come from low income families, that struggle at times in understanding difficult material. All of my students want to succeed and earn a high school diploma. Some of them want to attend college and the other students want to attend a trade school.
My students want to learn and want to make a better life for themselves, but are hungry and don't like drawing attention to themselves!
Some of them learn best from hearing the material, some learn best by hands on projects and others learn best from listening to the material(sometimes over and over again).
My Project
These materials will make a difference by providing breakfast, snacks and sometimes lunch for my students who come in for support before after and even during school. How can expect my students to be successful in class when they are so hungry.
I have students who do not qualify for free and reduce lunch and breakfast and sometimes these students come to school with out breakfast and without a lunch, that means they spend the whole school day starving but they are to embarrassed to say something.
This project will allow them to have healthy choices for breakfast or lunch without having to be embarrassed!
