My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support and resources for learning. One of the biggest challenges my families face is the ability to provide basic necessities for their children.
By providing materials for my students, this will help provide the support needed for students with a disability to help succeed while in the classroom.
A large percentage of our students live in multi-family member homes, foster homes, other family members and friends' homes, and hotels/motels. These students and families may not have the financial freedom to provide extra resources above and beyond what is in the school already. By helping to provide these school supplies, you are helping each student access the school curriculum, become organized, and help with not worrying about what they need to be successful each and every day.
My Project
Donations to this project will help improve lessons and engagement for my students while in the classroom. This will give them opportunities to actively participate while in groups, have resources to create meaningful notes, and help them become independent while using post-its for organization, tools for keeping track of their work, and markers to complete the work without the worry of how am I going to get a supplies to do my best.
Ultimately, my students' lives can change for the better by becoming more engaged in class, confident, and become better students for the future when having the right tools.
