My Students

I love my students. I teach in a district right on the City of Memphis line. We are a title 1 school with many families with students living below the poverty line. My students are very special. They worked so hard for this year, but I did not get to finish the year with them because of Covid 19. I am getting to see them next year though! This year I am moving from 4th to 5th, but I am continuing to co-teach with a SPED teacher. What is different this year is that I'm team teaching. This means I'll have 50 different students instead of just 25.

My Project

Since I will be team teaching in a co-teach/SPED environment, I will have 50 or more students in my classroom every day. 5th-grade students are still learning how to organize their supplies, and I feel it will help them to keep their reading, writing, grammar, and social studies supplies in one room instead of traveling with their supplies to Math/Science class as they will in middle school. Students will still be required to keep their belongings organized themselves within their space. This cubby storage unit for organization is vital in school and in the future.
