My Students

We have a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds and income levels in our area. With school being 100 virtual for the time being, we only see each other from a safe distance in our neighborhood or other local places. Until we are back in the classroom, this will have to be enough.

My Project

During the pandemic, students have very limited access to real books. The school library is closed. The public library is limited to specific orders and pick-ups, though is now closed entirely for a COVID-19 case. They can access ebooks, but after a long day of computer learning, wouldn't it be great to curl up with a real book?

I would like students to have high quality, culturally relevant books to read and keep in their homes while we are distance learning.

With my project and some personal delivery service, my students will have something good to read that is not on a screen.
