My classroom is filled with diverse students, some with special needs, and most from impoverished backgrounds. They are excited to learn and grow. I enjoy teaching these students because I create a second home for them where they come to school and feel safe.
Many of my students have parents that are absentee, incarcerated, or unable to provide a stable environment for them.
Many of the parents are uneducated and therefore cannot assist their children with schoolwork. I love the challenge of my job! I love all of my students!
My Project
During the school day, my students become tired or overwhelmed with the schoolwork,and I like to give them a boost with some sweet treats.
The students who need a little extra motivation for behavior usually respond to candy as well.
I would like to be able to give out small candies such as those in the Mayfair Kids Variety Bag, Starbursts, Laffy Taffy, Tootsie Roll Midgees, and Sour Patch Kids, as well as the variety pack with Lifesavers, Skittles, and Starburst. The students respond positively to these little sweet gifts by staying on task, behaving, or completing work.
