Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the teacher for our emotionally disturbed class. My students work in self contained class environment where I can work one on one with them. They generally have limited access to other ares of the school. There are many obstacles that must be overcome everyday by my students, personally, emotionally and socially. I desperately want to create an atmosphere that nurtures my kids and gives them a sense of safety and ease.
Their past environment makes it hard for them to learn in the general education class.
Most of them have extreme personal struggles in their short pasts. They all have many positive attributes, but just need to have a great school experience.
They are so precious and I have gained their trust and loyalty. I work hard to be the positive in their lives. They are very young, which gives me time to enable them to turn their lives around.
My Project
This wall divider will be such a blessing for my students. I teach multiple grades at the same time. The divider will block all excessive noises. It will also help with students' silent reading time. Students also need "time outs" from the stress - I know this quiet wall divider will give them that chance. They are awesome students with a lot of potential.
Our students are in need of a quiet zone in order to succeed.
A wall divider will make them advance in a more quiet place. Noise makes it very hard for them to complete work successfully. I truly believe they will be able to "turn the corner" academically.
