My students need a flute to play in my beginning band class. This instrument will provide students year after year with the opportunity to play a band instrument.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As our band program grows, the school instruments we depend on grow scarcer and scarcer. I want to make sure that in the fifth grade, students have high-quality instruments to use. Having a good instrument will ensure that students learn better and will be more enthusiastic about music.
Our school is rural and under-resourced, but we have a thriving music program that depends on school instruments.
My beginning fifth grade class comes into the band room on the first day of school with eager faces and plenty of enthusiasm. They love to hear their sound the very first time we play together as a class. They should all have a good-quality instrument to play.
My Project
This Barrington student model flute is perfect for a beginner or a more advanced student. It is easy to play and will enable a young student to quickly get a good sound out of it and learn the basics of playing. Flutes are an essential and popular part of any band, so students need to have flutes available to play. We keep growing year by year and adding this beautiful and practical instrument will enable students to participate in our band program.
I believe that learning to play an instrument, no matter what other things a student may do in his or her life, is something no one can take away.
This flute will bring pride and enthusiasm to a student, especially as they learn to play and master it. Our students don't have many opportunities, but playing an instrument is something I want to give each and every one, and you can help.
