Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our kinders and first graders enjoy our butterfly and ladybug habitat. They understand that it requires effort and upkeep in order for it to be successful.
It is awesome to see when students' hard work and dedication directly links to the success of a habitat garden.
The pride they feel when their attentiveness and persistence for our garden results in nature's beauty and butterflies is priceless. It helps them to see just how connected we are to the environment around us.
My Project
Students can make an impact on our environment. A good way to learn this is by teaching children that the care and efforts they put into the world around us will show in even small areas like a butterfly and ladybug garden.
We can start with the simplest of efforts in learning how we can impact our environment.
They will learn that hard work such as weeding, watering and maintaining our garden plants will help our caterpillars thrive and grow. The care we put into our butterfly and ladybug garden, using the gloves and gardening tools, will show them that their determination will result in the right environment for the insects we so love and appreciate.
