it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a title one school where 93% of our student body receives free/reduced lunch. My students come every day ready and willing to learn and I think they deserve the best! As the ESE cluster, they are a class of mixed abilities (both academically and physically) and will benefit from new materials and supplies that will enhance their learning! They love to learn new things and they especially enjoy anything that involves hands-on!
All of my students love school and have the ability to be successful, and that will be enhanced when they have access to the right supplies!
These students love to learn and love when we get to incorporate hands-on learning or games to solidify their thinking. A lot of our families struggle to meet basic need and it's my job to help meet those when I can. Even though they have all of these challenges, they are still some of the kindest and most compassionate students I've met.
My Project
My students love to read! But more importantly than that, they LOVE different books on certain topics or within the same series. In my classroom there are a lot of students with varying ability levels and one of the best ways that I have found to get them engaged is to have books on topics that they love. Once they get hooked on the topic, they force themselves to learn to read it!
I would love to help my students get more engaged in reading by having books that speak to their interest!
We have a very big gap to fill in our reading because of how far behind we are and I would love to engage my readers and get them moving in their reading!
