My Students

My students are vocational education students who leave their home school for a half-day Cosmetology program. These students are in their 2nd year of the program and will graduate high school this year upon completion.

My students are a diverse mix of ladies from many different home school districts.

Students will take the NYS Boards leading them to a Cosmetology License. Many are going on to college, or the service, with this valuable trade in their back pocket.

My Project

When you think of snacks in school, you often think of young kids; high school students need fuel. My students have been working extremely hard in the cosmetology program. This is their second year of a 2-year program, and part of their year last year was spent learning from home.

Nutrition is essential, and working on an empty stomach is not ideal, so I would like to have water and other snacks available to my students as needed.

Some of them have a very long bus ride (around an hour) to or from their home school and don’t have time for a lunch in their schedule.

In addition, I do prize raffles for hard work and would like to add some snacks to be used as prizes. The paper towels will keep things tidy.
