Our students compete at the local, state, and national level.
Middle-school students in our Technology Student Association (TSA) are learning to lead in a technical world.
Our students exemplify the following principles of leadership: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart.
Here are some of the categories our students compete in: Coding, STEM Animation, Invention and Innovation, Electrical Applications, Microcontroller, Problem Solving, Mechanical Engineering, CAD Foundations, Website Design, Dragster, Junior Solar Sprint, Tech Bowl, and Technical Design.
My Project
his year, my middle school engineering students have been learning about coding through the Micro:bit and Makecode.com. After working with the Micro:bit, some students would like to learn to code video games.
With the addition of the Meowbit, students will be able to code their own video games and play them!
They will go to arcade.makecode.com. There, they can watch tutorials and learn how to code their game. Then they will transfer their game to the Meowbit. After that, they will be able to play their game.
More advanced students will move from block code to JavaScript. My students are excited to learn about coding since they can see the results of their work!
