Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in an urban district where many of my students are counted out before they're given a chance to prove themselves. My students come from different parts of the city, and in their short lives, have had some experiences that some adults could not fathom. Despite the odds, my students persevere and continue to make amazing strides in preparing for their future.

My school is a project based school where our students forge relationships with the community and pursue their interests in the real world through internships.

My students design and implement school-wide projects that allow participation from our entire student body. My students are committed to making changes in the community.

My Project

This embroidery machine will help my students take their learning and their business to the next level. They have been creating ideas and designing shirts, masks, and bags with vinyl. These designs have helped them raise money for school projects, trips, and to help their community.

Now my students want to elevate their business to the next level by offering personalized embroidered designs for their classmates and potential customers.

This machine will allow them to create logos for school uniforms, offer more options to customers in order to raise money for school projects, and will help them to continue to grow as entrepreneurs.
