Hello! I am a very excited American Government and Law teacher. My students are 6th -8th graders and 80%-95% of the students are from low-income household. They are eager to learn more about law. In my Law Studies course, I am able to use their intrigue to help them learn more about our constitution and legal system. I need the right tools to build a strong foundation and inspire my students to reach their heights. These resources will be transformational in exposing them to the various law related careers. In addition, I expose them to different types of law related professions.
Various books in different career fields help pique their interests in different subjects and serve as motivation for them to read.
Unfortunately, our school's budget is limited and we need textbooks to help deepen student understanding and assist teachers in teaching hands-on, high-interest lessons.
Students are naturally curious about the world. I want to build on that curiosity with our middle school students and expose them to different jobs in the law related profession. In the process, their high interest will motivate them to read more often and increase literacy.
With the purchase of these textbooks, students will have a better understanding of the law, and the criminal justice system, and a more positive outlook on police officers.
It will allow an opportunity for discussion on many questions they have and provide topics for various research and debate projects. These textbooks will also provide a framework for various job related simulations, such as job interviews.
